SET 5 (9.00-13.00 - MONDAY AND TUESDAY)
My name is Yatimi binti Yusof.I am 21 years old. I was born on 2nd August 1988.I live in Kampung Sungai Baru, Merbok, Kedah.Merbok is a small town near to Sungai Petani. I live there with my family. I have a quite big family. There are three sister and two younger brothers. I am the fourth in my family and I am the youngest daughter of my father and my mother.
My father’s name is Yusof bin Ismail. He is 56 years old. He was born on 20th March 1953.He works at Museum of Archeology as an officer. Before he married my mum, he was stayed with my grandfather and grandmother at Yan. His first school was Sekolah Kebangsaan Dulang Kechil, Yan, Kedah. After that he was registered for form 1 at Sekolah Menengah Yan until Form 5.I am glad to have a father like him because it is not easy to a person at his time to further their study. Morever, he is the first of his siblings and he has another five younger brothers and sisters. My grandfather was only a fisherman. However, my father sat for Form Si at Bukit Mertajam High School, Penang after he got his SPM’s results. When he was in form 6, he worked hard while studying. My father had told us that it was very difficult and he had to study and work very hard in the same time. After he got his STPM results, he applied the work as a museum officer. My father loves reading very much. I know this because, since I was a child my father never missed buying two books per month including motivation books, religious books, historical books and others. Besides that, when my siblings and I were in primary school, my father always bought us a book as a birthday present. My father likes to eat ‘nasi kandar’ and drink ‘teh tarik’ the most. I had asked him about his favourite food and drink and he told me that when he was in form 6, he worked at the mamak stall so the food the that stall had influenced him. Before he married my mother, he had a lot of friends and he never met my mother, but he when my grandmother and grandfather told him about my mother, he was shocked. They never fell in love but they got married on 17th March 1976 and now they are living happily with each others.
The woman of my life is my mother. Her name is Khatijah binti Ahmad. She is 52 years old and was born on 15th March 1957. She is the youngest child for her parents. She is a housewife. She got a first studied at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengakalan Bujang, Merbok. After that, she sat for form 1 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Merbok until form 5. My mother loves to cook and she always try out new recipe for us. This hobby has influenced my youngest brother and me. My mother likes to eat ‘nasi lemak’ and drink coffee. Before he married my father, she was a netball player for her area but she had stopped playing netball after she got married. Her hobby in sports was continued by my third sister. My mother never stopped her to take part in sports.
I have three sisters. My first sisters name is Yuhana binti Yusof. She is 31 years old. She married when she was 27 years old. Now, she is teaching at Klang while her husband is teaching at Tanjung Malim, Perak. I call my first sister ‘Along’. She was born on 2nd June 1978. Her first school is Sekolah Kebangsaan Haji Omar Tahir. After she got her UPSR results, she continued her study at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Kedah. Aftar that, she studie at UiTM Shah Alam in Computer Science. After graduate, she applied for KPLI wnd now she is a teacher. My sister loves to eat ‘ mee hoon soup’ and drink chocolate ice. Her hobby is surfing internet. Now, she has a son named Ahmad Syamil bin Shamsul Rizal. Their child is staying with my parents now.
My second sister is Shahida binti Yusof. She was also married. She is 27 years old. He first school is Sekolah Kebangsaan Haji Omar Tahir and furthered her studies at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sungai Layar. After she got her SPM results, she furthered her study at UiTM in Electric Engineering and obtained a diploma and Bachelor Degree. After finished her Bachelor Degree, she had furthered her study at Malaysia Technology University for Masters. Now, she is teaching at Kulim Polytehcnic while her husband is teaching at Selangor University. My second sister likes to eat ‘murtabak’ and drink ‘soy bean’. She loves watching television and reading a book.
My third sister is Yushafiza binti Yusof. She is 24 years old. She is also a teacher. She is teaching Physic and Mathematics. After finishing her studies at primary school, she furthered her study at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Sik. After that, she furthered her study at Penang Matriculation College then she furthered her study at Putra Malaysia University in Bachelor Degree of Education. She loves to eat ‘char Kuey Teow’ and drink Iced Tea. She loves playing netball and she has taken part in this game since primary school.
My first younger brother is Muhamad Yukhairi bin Yusof. He is 18 years old. He had registered for form 1 in Sekolah Menengah Sri Badong until form 5. He likes to eat ‘roti canai’ and drink instant coffee. His hobby is gardening. He planted vegetables, fruits and flowers around our home. His ambition is to be an officer in PERHILITAN. This is because he loves to learn about wild animals, flora and fauna.
My youngest brother is Muhammad Yukhwan bin Yusof. He is 16 years old. He is a student at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sri Badong. He loves to eat fried mee and drink Iced Horlicks. My youngest brother likes to cook. Usually, he always helps my mother in kitchen. Other than that, he also love to decorate our house.When we asked him about his ambition, he said to be a popular chef such as Chef wan and Chef Ismail.
Finally, my name is Yatimi binti Yusof. I am 21 years old. Now, I’m studying in National University of Malaysia in Islamic Studies. I love to eat ‘mee hon soup’ and drink iced soya. My hobby is reading.Sometimes I love to cook with my mother. This is because my mother always teaches me about new recipes and sometimes, we try to find new recipes together. In future, I want to be a counselor in the department of family support a I have planned with my younger brother to open a restaurant that has many types of country dishes.I hope my younger brother and I can do it.
Although my sisters are not staying with my parents, we always keep in touch. During school holidays or weekends, we always go to travel together. For example, we went to Langkawi and Pulau Tioman last holiday. In conclusion, I love my family very much.
